St. Paul, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced the 2008 MIAC Men’s Soccer Awards today, November 17, 2008. Leading the 20-player All-Conference team is Carleton College senior midfielder Paul Pedtke who was named the 2008 MIAC Player of the Year. He led the Knights to the MIAC Regular Season and Playoff Titles and tallied six goals and two assists for 14 points in conference play.
Carleton head coach Bob Carlson was selected as the MIAC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. Carlson’s Knights finished 8-1-1 in MIAC play and repeated as regular season conference champs.

As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the MIAC announced the third annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for men’s soccer. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
