NSC Tournaments – a correction

I received an email today from Barclay Kruse, Media Director from NSC. He wanted to make a clarification that I had gotten wrong in my previous post called, Schwan’s USA Cup to be sponsored by US Club Soccer as MYSA drops out.  

Kruse said, MYSA originally approved themselves to be the host club for all NSC tournaments, except for USA CUP. This is a necessary step that needs to be taken before approving the NSC’s sanction application. However, because MYSA said no to being the host club for USA CUP, it became clear that USA CUP would not be sanctioned through MYSA. Thus, the NSC decided to sanction through US Club Soccer, and not to pursue dual sanctioning. So we never actually applied for a sanction for our non-USA CUP tournaments.

I had actually been looking over US Club Soccer’s web site this weekend and had noticed that all of NSC’s tournaments were sanctioned by US Club Soccer. I was confused at the time, so I’m very glad Kruse corrected me on this detail.
