Neil Cassidy, who was named head coach of the newly formed Rochester Thunder Premier Development League (PDL) team, talked by phone with IMS today. Neil tells us of growing up in Manchester England, where he played his youth soccer and developed his early interest in coaching. Cassidy also shared with us his involvement with Rochester Youth Soccer Association (RYSA), how the Rochester PDL team came to be and how he was involved from the beginning.

He also talked about the PDL combine that was held recently, and how the team is structured for those players contemplating playing for the Rochester Thunder. He explained the benefits of playing for a PDL team that is affiliated with a pro team like the Minnesota Thunder. Finally, he described how the city of Rochester is embracing the team.
