US vs Mexico – fantastic behind the scene footage!
On Monday, US Soccer released a fantastic video of behind the scenes footage of the US v Mexico World Cup qualifier last month in Columbus, Ohio. When in Columbus we were notified by Sams Army that NFL Films was going to be at the event doing promotional videos for US Soccer. I am assuming this spectacular footage is from that organization.
I was at the game and there were several moments that I will not soon forget. Listen to the crowd at the end of the game. You can hear us singing, “Dos a cero”. Fantastic! That was one of the moments.
The other personal memory I have is a moment at the end of the game. Tim Howard was in front of us in the second half. At the end of that game when the whistle blew, Timmy swiveled around with both hands raised and clenched, leaned back, looked up at all of us in Sams Army and let off a huge victorious laugh that could almost be heard 30 rows up into the stands where I sat. He kept the eye contact going until his teammates arrived. Then they all joined in sharing the moment with US Soccer’s most loyal and vocal fans. I remember thinking to myself, this is so much more than just a game to these players.
This is US vs. Mexico my friends, and no where in the world does it get any bigger than this. Enjoy!
