David Beckham speaks to ESPN about his extended loan to AC Milan and how MLS fans may perceive the deal

David Beckham gave an extended interview to Hannah Storm of ESPN. Hannah asks some good questions, and Beckham does his best to avoid those questions. There is one moment where she quotes Alexi Lallas and his comment that MLS fans will boo him when he comes back in July to play. Beckham suggests perhaps Lallas will be one of those fans booing.

Storm again asked a tough question with a tone of indignation concerning schedule conflicts between England and the Galaxy in September: “So you’ll be bouncing back and forth between continents? How do you think that will effect your level of play?”

Beckham smirked and gave a rehearsed answer of, “I’ve been doing it for the last two years and I’m used to it.” My question for Beckham would be, “Ya David — and how’s that worked out for the Galaxy?”

I have to believe that every day Bruce Arena is begging and pleading with Tim Leiweke, President & CEO of AEG, “When can we dump this guy?” Like him or not, Arena is a no nonsense guy who’s just interested in building a good team in LA. In the long run, that’s what will fill the seats at Home Depot, not an international pop/soccer star who happens to have a wicked free-kick from set plays.

    “I’m committed to this club 24/7… That’s 24 hours a week, 7 weeks a year.”
