Thunder keeper Nic Platter speaks about his time with DC United and the MLS teams reason for releasing him

The Minnesota Thunder opened their 2009 pre-season workouts on Friday. In attendance was Nic Platter, senior goalkeeper for the team who was wearing the familiar Thunder goalkeeping training kit rather than the DC United one he had donned the last 3-weeks. Platter took a few minutes after the team’s workout to explain the reason DC United released the 4 year Thunder veteran keeper back to Minnesota.
Nic also shared a few other stories of last years’ pre-season training with the San Jose Earthquakes and the Chicago Fire, including a story about a late night run for food with Cuauhtémoc Blanco.
