Ted Kroeten Out as Blackhawks Director of Player Development

2009 May 3
by Brian Quarstad

blackhawksThe St. Paul Blackhawks Soccer Club announced  today through an e-mail to its members that Ted Kroeten is no longer the Director of Player Development for the club as of May 1, 2009.  The announcement seems to be a surprise particularly with the timing of the letter, just before the start of league play for most teams.

Kroeten was the Director of Coaching at the club for 8 years until taking the position of Director of Player Development in November of 2008. The past 3 months, Kroeten has been working for Joy of the People Foundation, a non-profit foundation set up to build mini, futsal and pick-up soccer courts at schools and parks across the US, building communities and health through unstructured play.

As of May 1, Ted Kroeten no longer serves as Director of Player Development for St. Paul Blackhawks Soccer Club. We understand Ted is pursuing his own business interests, not associated with Blackhawks.  The Blackhawks thank Ted Kroeten for his many years of service as Director of Coaching and Player Development and the positive role he has played in youth soccer development.
