Oconitrillo Named Boys Head Coach

Holy Family has named Jorge Oconitrillo the new boys head varsity soccer coach. Oconitrillo previously coached the girls program at Holy Family. Oconitrillo joined the girl’s staff in 2002 and became the Head Coach in 2003. He led the team to a top three finish in five of the last six years. In 2006, he was honored with Coach of the Year recognition in the Wright County Conference.  Under the direction of Coach Oconitrillo, the Holy Family girls soccer program has gained an outstanding reputation in the state as a very competitive program, competing against other recognized programs such as Edina, Northfield, Orono, Simley, and Rogers.

Coach Oconitrillo is also a high level soccer official. He is one of only 7 officials in Minnesota with the title of National Referee. In addition, he is an NCAA Big Ten Official, and he regularly officiates for the Minnesota Thunder,
Minnesota Gophers, and other high level teams across the country. When asked why he is making the switch from coaching girls to boys, Coach Oconitrillo says, “Coaching the boy’s team is a very exciting challenge for
me. I believe I can transmit the same kind of principles that I was able to convey to the girls soccer team for six years: passion for the game, dedication and a winning attitude. We have an amazing group of boys that will be led by a great group of coaches.”  He also said “This new opportunity has given me new energy and excitement. I cannot wait to start the first practice to begin a new era in boys soccer at Holy Family. I will miss the girls team very much and I will be there to support them as much as I can.”

Coach Tudor holds many coaching licenses in Minnesota and has a vast wealth of knowledge on the game.
