Rochester Thunder Try to Win Second Consecutive Game at Home
Rochester, MN – The Rochester Thunder Premier Development League soccer team will look to win a second consecutive game this Saturday evening, May 23, when they face the Kansas City Brass at the RCTC Stadium field at 7 pm.
The Thunder secured their first win last weekend, defeating the Real Colorado Foxes 1-0 on a rainy evening in front of a hearty crowd of more than 400. Gustavo Diaz did the damage for the Thunder, scoring the game’s only goal in the 73rd minute.
Kansas City comes into the game 1-3, having secured their first victory of the season with a 5-2 win over the Springfield Demize on Wednesday night. Despite their record, the Brass have shown a lot of offensive firepower, scoring 9 goals in their first four games this season. Leading scorer Matthew Earl Klaus will be a player for the Thunder to keep an eye on Saturday night. The midfielder has three goals and an assist already this season for the Brass.
“We’re excited to play another match,” said Thunder head coach Neil Cassidy. “It should be a good game, with both teams coming off their first win, but we’ll be looking to build off the strengths of our previous game and continue to improve as a squad.”
