Rochester Thunder Win 2nd Home Game

rochester-thunderThe Rochester Thunder continued their winning ways on Saturday night, posting a 2-0 victory over the Kansas City Brass in Premier Development League soccer action. After an action-packed but scoreless first half, the Thunder struck twice in the second half. Midfielder Kentaro Takada scored on a header from a pass by forward Mark Heath-Preston in the 57th minute. Provider turned goalscorer when Heath-Preston doubled the Thunder’s lead in the 86th minute. Substitute forward Teal Bunbury set up the second goal for Rochester with a strong run down the right side of the field. Bunbury then sent the ball into the box, where Heath-Preston pounced for the score.

Rochester Thunder dominated the stats in most departments leading the Brass with 12 shots to 5 and 8 corners to 4.

The team is now 2-2-0 and sit in 4th place of 7 teams in the Heartland division of the PDL.

The Thunder’s next home match is Sunday, May 31 at 7 pm at the RCTC Stadium, where they will look to tame the St. Louis Lions.
