Thunder to Play No Name Nebraska Team in US Open Cup Game
It was announced today by US Soccer that the Minnesota Thunder will play the Nebraska team that has no team name but only goes by, “Nebraska“.
Just last week IMS learned that the star of the Nebraska team that whopped the Minnesota Hawks several weeks ago 10-1 in a game played at the National Sports Center, features a common name to Thunder fans as well as fans of MLS. Johnny Torres is the featured player on this no named Nebraska team.
Last week, former MLS and USL player Johnny Torres carried the team in a game against RWB Adria from Illinois 5-3 , scoring three of the team’s goals in regulation. Torres, now an assistant coach at his alma mater Creighton University, was the fifth overall pick by the New England Revolution in the 1998 MLS Draft and later played for the Miami Fusion, Chicago Fire, the Minnesota Thunder and Milwaukee Wave United.
The Thunder will face off against the unnamed Nebraska team on June 9th, with a 7:05 kick off at the National Sports Center with $5.00 tickets.

The Nebraska “If we lose to a team without a name I’m seriously considering not renewing my season tickets’s”?
I agree with Pat, but I suggest the “Nebraska Who”
According to the Thunder discussion board and Bruce from duNord who sent me a tweet, the team is now officially known as the 402′s. You can find that by going to the US Open Cup website or look below on my earlier post.
