Very nice, Brian. Keep the articles on tactics coming.

I didn't read last week's interview with the Thunder Head Coach, so I watched yesterday's game feeling like the Thunder were using a 4-5-1 instead of the 4-2-1-3.

This was fine in the first half when PR had the strong wind at their backs. The Thunder were able to hold PR to 0-0 (although well credit to the goalkeeper for some outstanding saves when PR did get through). The Thunder appeared to get only one or possibly two meaningful chances up front.

In the second half, however, the Thunder too often attacked with what appeared as only one forward position (when they still had eleven players on the field). Now that I see the formation was indeed three forwards instead of one, the other two forward positions appeared to have trouble getting up to provide support.

I am looking forward to the current formation once the players get used to three up front.
