US Club Soccer’s National Cup VIII Indianapolis Regional
Teams from 10 states – Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia – have traveled to Indianapolis, The Circle City, for a chance to capture a regional championship and, for the U-13 through U-17 teams, to advance to the National Cup VIII Finals in Virginia Beach, Va., later this summer.
The Minnesota Thunder Academy has 7 teams participating, Eden Prairie has one team and Shattuck-St. Mary’s has two teams.
As of Sunday morning, here are the win-losses from teams from the states participating:
Indiana: 3-7-3
Illinois: 20-20-6
Kansas: 0-2-0
Kentucky: 1-1-0
Minnesota: 7-3-0
Missouri: 6-3-0
New York: 0-3-1
Ohio: 5-4-0
Pennsylvania: 2-0-0
West Virginia: 0-1-0
As you can see, there is quite a bit of parity among the states. Minnesota, Missouri and Pennsylvania seem to be at the top of the pack, but we’ll see how the standings change after today’s games.
Go HERE for schedules and results. I’ll try to give a team-by-team report on Tuesday after the teams have played all three first round games.
