Wayne Harrison Steps Down From Position as Eden Prairie Soccer Club’s Director of Coaching

After nine successful years with the Eden Prairie Soccer Club as Director of Coaching and Player Development, Wayne Harrison is stepping down to accept a position in the United Arab Emirates.  Wayne has accepted the position of Director of Coaching for the Youth Academy and Soccer Center of Excellence for Al Ain, the top professional soccer club in the United Arab Emirates.  Wayne will begin his new position with Al Ain in mid-July.

“We have been very fortunate to have Wayne as Eden Prairie Soccer Club’s guiding force for the past nine years and will greatly miss him.  We wish Wayne and his family the very best in this new and well deserved opportunity” says Tina Chilton, Eden Prairie Soccer Club President.

Wayne has served the larger Eden Prairie soccer community for many years holding a number of camps and clinics throughout the year for both club and non-club players.  Wayne also served as the Eden Prairie High School Varsity Girls Soccer Head Coach, guiding the team to a state championship in 2005 and finishing second in State in 2006 and 2008.  In addition to his work locally, Wayne Harrison has received a number of coaching awards, presented at numerous symposiums and clinics around the US, has his own soccer website (www.soccerawareness.com), and has had eight books on soccer published.

The members of the Eden Prairie Soccer Club are indebted to Wayne’s dedication and many years of service.  He is leaving the Eden Prairie soccer program well positioned for continued growth and success.
