Another Montreal Meltdown
Photographer Jeremy Olson has been shooting for Inside Minnesota Soccer since the beginning of the site last October. Jeremy is a gifted photographer and has also been shooting for the Minnesota Thunder this season. His site can be found here.
Olson has caught some amazing shots this year but none more surprising than what many of us Thunder fans missed during the game, as did referee Tyler Ploeger who certainly would have had to red card someone for this display of infighting. Impact midfielders Mauro Biello (#20) and Sandro Grande (#8) come to a physical confrontation in their own goal just before a corner kick. Grande seems to be totally out of control in Olson’s shot. Montreal keeper Matt Jordan tried to intervene and break up the fight. Evidently the fight was distracting enough for the Impact as the Thunder’s Melvin Tarley scored from the Sanchez corner kick.
Montreal always seems to melt down when they come to Minnesota to play the Thunder. Sadly, the story was no different this year. Minnesota plays Montreal 2 more times this season but both games are at Saputo Stadium.
Jeremy Olson caught a sequence of photos that is indicitive of the evening that Montreal had at National Sports Center last Saturday while losing to the Minnesota Thunder 3-0.
