rochester-thunderRochester, MN – Forward Teal Bunbury was honored with the Rochester Thunder’s first-ever post-season individual award last week as he was named to the Premier Development League’s Central Conference All-Conference Team. The team is composed of players from the PDL’s Heartland and Great Lakes Divisions.

Bunbury appeared in 11 of the Thunder’s 16 league games this season, scoring a team-high five goals and adding two assists. Bunbury will be returning to the University of Akron this fall for his sophomore season. Last season, as a freshman, he played alongside Steve Zakuani, who was taken by Seattle Sounders FC as the #1 overall pick in the 2009 Major League Soccer Super Draft.

“Teal is a real talent and provided a spark whenever he was on the field,” said Thunder head coach Neil Cassidy. “Any time he touched the ball this summer there was a genuine feeling from the fans that something big could happen.”
