USA vs Honduras – World Cup Qualifying Watch Party and the ONLY PLACE to watch this game in the Twin Cities

Come join Minnesota supporters of the US Men’s National team, along with readers of Inside Minnesota Soccer.com and du Nord Futbol, for a U.S. National Team watch party.
The US National team plays Honduras on Saturday, October 10th with a 9:00 p.m. CT kick off. Admission $10.00 closed circuit fee.
Important: Please read on as the Sweetwater is the ONLY place in town to watch this important game.
As you most likely know by now, the Honduran soccer federation sold the rights to this game that will be played in San Pedro Sula, Honduras to a company called MediaPro. They are a Spanish company that deals with closed circuit pay-per-view events. You WILL NOT be able to watch this very important US World Cup qualifier at home.
The US could clinch a spot in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa with several scenarios on Saturday evening.
1. If the USA wins in Honduras
2. If Costa Rica loses at home to Trinidad & Tobago
3. If the USA and Cost Rica both draw, the USA still qualifies
There are only a handful of places to watch this game across the US, and up until last week there was nowhere in the Twin Cities to watch it. However, Saeed, the owner of the Sweetwater, has agreed to plunk down $1000.00 to make this happen and is only asking $10.00 for admission to watch this all-important game.
That means you will ONLY be able to watch this game at one place in the Twin Cities and that one place is none other than the Sweetwater Bar and Grille in the Kelly Inn in St. Paul.
The Sweetwater is the official viewing spot for US National Team games for Inside Minnesota Soccer and duNord Futbol. It is also an official U.S. Soccer Bar.
Some bars are charging up to $20.00 a piece for this game. However, we need a least 100 people to show up in order for Saeed to break even. So tell all your soccer friends, and have them tell their friends. The Sweetwater Bar and Grille is the ONLY place to be on Saturday evening.
The US is attempting to make its sixth consecutive appearance at the World Cup in 2010.
See you at the Sweetwater!

I can’t wait for Saturday
Wow…………………..ESPN 360 won’t even have it. What is everyone supposed to do now that we can’t watch the game, have a barbeque, and crack open a couple beers?? This is just horrible..
Check out the link for the place near you where you can watch. Otherwise check out this piece by Steven Goff with a cover story in the Washington Post concerning the lack of TV coverage for the US v Honduras game: http://is.gd/44R8B
what can you do? join us at the Sweety and get 2 for 1 beers, if you want bbq, stop by Big Daddy’s on University before the game.
He’s not from the Twin Cities Neal.
I can’t believe United State Tv don’t care about the national soccer team!!! I m like wow ….I wanna see the game this suck…. damm espm .. suck …
xnider, It had nothing to do with the US. It was the Honduran Football Association who sold out on this one. Blame them. They sold the rights to a closed circuit tv company instead of a someone who would have distributed it to cable companies. The US Soccer Federation were as frustrated as you were.
Great stuff… A great game to remember for a few months before it all starts over again next summer in: SOUTH AFRICA 2010!
Thanks Saeed
