“The Damned United” Debuts in the Twin Cities
“The Damned United” is a movie that has been much talked about in the soccer community but hardly marketed within the soccer community, which will surely be their most interested group in a soccer-hungry nation as the United States.
The film profiling the legendary Brian Clough will be opening tonight October, 23 at the Uptown Theaters with multiple play times and will continue through Thursday October, 29.
Euan Kerr from Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) and friend of Inside Minnesota Soccer, has done a fine review of this movie and I would highly suggest you check out his post at MPR news Q.
Kerr says the all-star movie faces an uphill struggle because it’s about soccer. This coming from a man who loves soccer and still plays the game himself, but is a realist to the place of the game in the US landscape. Kerr is originally from Scotland.
The MPR film and book critic interviewed both the star Michael Sheen and director Tom Hooper and gives us an audio report.
Please listen to and/or read Kerr’s review and then let me know what you thought of the movie after you’ve seen it.
