La Crescent 2-0 East Grand Forks

733 fans braved the wind and rain at St. Cloud State University to watch as La Crescent (17-3-1) took on #4 seeded East Grand Forks (22-0).

3:12 into the first half of the game, Skylar Minegar sent a throughball to Jena Kadlec, who scored with a shot to the upper left corner.

Autumn Hayes scored La Crescent’s second goal of the night at 68:36 on a rebound from a saved penalty kick that had been awarded to La Crescent.

Orono 1-0 Rogers

The second game of the night at St. Cloud State University was Orono (17-2-2) taking on Rogers (15-6).

7th grader Sophie Babo scored the game winner for Orono in the 51st  minute of play from a direct free kick from 23 yards out.

Rogers outshot Orono 8-4, forcing Orono keeper Grete Miller to 8 saves. Rogers keeper Jacqueline Zoubek made 3 saves on the evening.

Blake 3-0 Mankato West

The quarterfinal got underway at Roseville High School on Thursday night beginning with Blake (15-3-1) and Mankato West (12-6-2).

The Blake School dominated this contest with goals scored at 19 minutes by Natalie Sill and assisted by Andi Foss, 39 minutes by Hilary Crowe and assisted by Lydia Sutton and in the second half at 72:09 by Lydia Sutton and assisted by Korleki Akiti.

Blake out-shot their opponent 12-4.

Cloquet 2-1 East Ridge

East Ridges’ dream season came to an end on Thursday night when the new high school with no seniors were taken to 2 overtimes and shootouts.  Both goals in the game came in the second half.

East Ridge scored in the 77th minute with a goal from Anna Bygrave and the assist from Val Woulfe.

But just a minute later Cloquet answered with a goal of their own coming from Haley Bassett unassisted.

The game went to 2 overtimes and finally to a shootout before the outcome was decided in Cloquet’s favor.

Orono will now face off against La Crescent on Monday November, 2 at 8 am at the Metrodome for the semifinals.

The Blake School will play Cloquet in the other semifinal game at 10 am on Monday.
