I'm terribly sad that the Thunder's going. Terrible, terrible! Even if the level of soccer was not very good of late, I loved taking my family to a game a few times each season. I wanted to support the Thunder even though it was a 3 hr drive. We - the fans - need to just keep talking to people about the development of soccer in MN. With the GM and Camp Director off to Texas, and with word this week from the players that the Pres (Manny) sent an email notifying the team that he has not been working for the Thunder for at least a week or so already, it is hard to believe that something is going to revive the organization. It's really too bad as the existence of the Thunder has been a tremendous benefit to the growth of soccer here in Minnesota. I've learned as recently much about D2 professional soccer in this country and MN specifically that I wasn't previously aware of from reading the comments as I have from reading Brian's daily posts. That is a testament to the quality of IMS, the fact that it attracts such quality readers. Brian gets all the credit for that. As I told Brian last night, the quality of this blog and his reporting is reflected by the quality of the comments.
