Tony Sanneh Spreads Holiday Cheer to Disadvantaged in Virgin Islands
Tony Sanneh told IMS last week that he was flying from LA to the Twin Cities to celebrate Christmas with his family. According to MLSnet.com, the St. Paul native spent Christmas with his mother’s eight brothers and sisters. But after celebrating, Tony was soon on the the move again. According to the article, Sanneh traveled to St. Croix in the Virgin Islands for a soccer clinic being put on by his Sanneh Foundation, which helps disadvantaged youths in the Twin Cities area.
Current and former players will be helping Tony out at the clinic. They include Jovan Kirovski, Galaxy assistant coach Cobi Jones, Chivas USA’s Zach Thornton and Jesse Marsch and FC Dallas’ Jeff Cunningham. Sanneh and his group will be there for New Year’s as well.
As many as 150 of the islands’ youths will be attendance. Sanneh said the rewards of such an outing never get old.
“You get letters and thank yous from all the years,” he said. “You realize all the hearts that you touched and that you actually did something to make a difference. That makes you feel good.”

Tony Sanneh has always been a gentleman. More importantly, it’s fantastic to see more and more footballers become involved in the improvement of the lives of disadvantaged people; and particularly children. Thank You Tony!
Gotta be tough to recruit other players to help put on a clinic in the Virgin Islands in the middle of the winter!
Leper, was thinking the very same thing. LOL!
