Eden Prairie Soccer Club Announces Ben Bartlett as Director of Coaching and Player Development

Eden_Prairie_Soccer_ClubEden Prairie Soccer Club (EPSC) announced Sunday evening that after an extensive search, they have named Ben Bartlett as the Director of Coaching and Player Development.

Bartlett is from London, England and has been coaching soccer for 16 years.  He holds The Football Association (FA) Advanced Coaching License (UEFA A) and has developed players from grass roots to the elite level, including 15 international-level players.

In  Eden Prairie’s press release, it states that the DOC Search Committee screened more than 70 candidates from 10 countries.

Bartlett currently serves as a Regional Coach Development Manager for The FA where he is responsible for player development, child-specific coaching programs, and manages a team of 14 full-time coaches.

Prior to his work with The FA, Bartlett was the general manager for the Chelsea Football Club’s women’s and girl’s programs.

Bartlett will start in the fall of 2010.

EPSC also announced the immediate appointment of Peter Reid, the current Boys Technical Director, as Interim Director of Coaching and Player Development.  Reid will act in this capacity until Bartlett’s arrival.

Reid is a native of Liverpool, England.  A US resident since the mid-80s, Reid has extensive coaching experience, including serving as an Olympic Development Coach (ODP) for the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association
