I still don’t get the USL/NASL antimosity from fans. What the crap do I care what league my team or your team plays in, and why would I feel any greater anger towards teams who may or may not have aligned with one league or the other over the past 6 months of this fiasco? I’m against your team because I’m for my team (always assuming a team actually sets foot on the field here this year). I just find it funny how much people are personalizing the rivalry between the 2 leagues.

Brian, as always I love your generalizations. No, not EVERYONE said there wouldn’t be second division soccer this year. There was of course always that possibility, but as I stated here numerous times and on some interviews I did, there was too much money invested in teams from owners to not have a season this year.

So Minnesota is in an interesting spot. Which league will they play in?

As for the USL v. NASL rivalry, that’s going to be fun with the 3 teams that never showed they wanted to come over but how exactly can a “NASL Supporter” hate on Rochester if they end up playing in the USL next season b/c it was clear they wanted to come over to NASL.

Don’t get too excited. I’m hearing about a some very convoluted conferences and schedules because of compromise. While the idea is great, the execution may be not as glamours as it sounds. With that said, a USL team playing a NASL team could have some interesting ramifications as to the things the supporters will bring to the table/stadium. I am hearing some new chants and songs in my head already.

I like the idea of emulating the format of major league baseball.
