NSC Supporters Meeting Tonight – NSC/NASL Update
Stakeholders Summit Tonight
Just a reminder that the NSC’s Stakeholders Summit will take place tonight, January 21, at 6:30 for refreshments with the meeting starting at 7:00. The meeting will be held in the Schwans Center in the Gold Room. Indications are good for a large turnout with representation of many facets of soccer from the state. What a great way to start a soccer team off but to get the opinions of those that have the greatest stake in the team.
Name That Team News
The NSC is reporting that they have had over 3,000 votes placed so far for the Name Your Team contest that continues through the 26th of January. There is also word that one name has really jumped out to the front of the others by a pretty large margin.
US Soccer Division II Schedule
Word out today is that the US Soccer Division II schedule is soon to be released. Possibly as early as tomorrow if not early next week.
Positive Response To Krishnaiyer’s Appointment as PR Director
The news of Kartik Krishnaiyer being named as public relations director for the NASL seems to have hit a positive note with most people who are reporting in on the topic. In general, most seemed to be excited about a major online media guy being assigned to the post with the belief that this already shows a new and progressive path for the NASL. By bringing in an individual who fully understands the power of social media, it shows an understanding by the league of how most folks in the US gather their soccer news from the internet.
A Personal Congratulations to Kartik Krishnaiyer
Let me at this time publicly congratulate my friend and colleague Kartik Krishnaiyer. This really does seem like the right time and the right place for Kartik to expand his presence and help this new league to grow and be part of the soccer landscape for years to come. It does seem a bit odd that now, the man who reported the news, will now be helping to create the news. But I think that’s a very good thing. Kartik’s knowledge of the game is amazing as is his recall and he has an energy level that is hard to match.
Again, a huge congratulations to my/our friend Kartik who totally deserves the position. Best of luck Kartik! Believe me, we will be in touch!

Will he retire the Kartik Report or keep it going in some form?
See you folks there tonight!
So? How did it go?
Good turn out from many facets of soccer in MN including MYSA etc… At work so will try to report later today or tomorrow.
Can’t wait for a report. It was on my schedule to attend, but I ended up with a strained MCL. BQ, what do you mean you are at work?! You mean to say you are not making six figures serving soccer fans in MN by working for IMS?! lol lol lol
I’m really interested in the points discussed and the general feeling. thanks.
