Carl Craig – NSC Stars New Assistant Soccer Coach

Carl Craig was named as an assistant coach to the NSC Minnesota Stars last Thursday. He will assist head coach and director of player development Manny Lagos.

Craig came to the US from Newcastle, England with the help of Simon Whitehead and Coerver Coaching Minnesota in 1994. He has been the coaching director of, Westside Football Club and Wings Soccer Club and was part of the Shattuck St. Mary’s Soccer Academy as a head coach for the U-16 Boys. He was the head coach of the Minnesota Blast Soccer team with the NPSL and varsity boys soccer coach at Minneapolis South and is currently the varsity girls soccer coach at Richfield High School. He is also a Head Coach for an ODP State Select Boys team.

Craig currently holds a:  FA Full Badge, UEFA A License, KNVB Dutch Soccer Federation Advance Coaching Diploma, FIGC Italian Soccer Federation Coaching Diploma, NSCAA Premier Coaching Diploma and Goalkeeper Level 1 certificate, USSF A License and National Youth  Instructors License.

Craig talks to IMS about his background, his view on soccer in the United States and explains what his most valuable assets are that he will bring to the NSC Minnesota Stars.
