Rochester Thunder Gather 4 Points Away with Win and Draw
The Rochester Thunder PDL team opened their season away this weekend in Colorado as they played the Real Colorado Foxes in Denver. The game on Friday evening also served as a US Open Cup qualifying game. The format set by US Soccer for PDL teams is to play two home and two away games prior to May 31 which are league games but double as USOC games. The USL has selected which games in the schedule count and a USOC PDL qualifying table can be found at The Cup.us. Minnesota is in the Heartland Division which in USOC can be found in the Central Conference.
Rochester won their first USOC qualifier on Friday night, defeating the Foxes 3-0. Goals were scored by Mark Heath-Preston who scored a brace and Juan Chang got the third.
The Thunder PDL team had no time to rest on their victory as they played a second game on Saturday evening against Colorado. The Thunder drew that game 1-1 with the Rochester goal scorer being Mark Heath-Preston who recorded his third goal of the weekend. The draw on Saturday cemented a good four point weekend from the longest road trip of the season for the Rochester Thunder!

Glad to see them off to a fast start!
Brilliant job of coaching by Neil, Chris and Dean. Outstanding goalkeeper is definitely a plus. Looking forward to more Thunder success this season.
