One nagging question was never answered in yesterday’s press release from the WPS. What changes will happen within the league to allow players to move from Athletica now that they have folded? In other words, the league has roster size limits along with salary caps and none of those issues were addressed in yesterday’s statement.
WPS League spokesperson Robert Penner told IMS late yesterday afternoon that the salary cap and player roster sizes are currently under review with all teams in order to accommodate the influx of players from St. Louis. He said he wasn’t exactly sure when those details would be finalized but the league was currently working on the issue. He believed they could have an answer as soon as today.
