Star Tribune Launches New Online World Cup Site

If you just can’t get enough soccer coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup from IMS, duNord, US Soccer or any of your favorite soccer websites, you now have one more option. The Star Tribune has launched a new online World Cup website.  The Star Tribune will be combining local and international stories on their site.

Currently there’s an article from Mike Rand who does a Q & A with Tony Sanneh asking him to relate his trip to the 2002 World Cup to what the US players may be experiencing in South Africa.

David LaVaque interviews Gwendolyn Oxenham, co-star of the soccer documentary Pelada which will have a premier screening at Brit’s Pub on Thursday evening.

There’s also an interesting story which I had missed elsewhere about Argentina’s dreaded hooligans, the barras bravas, who are staying at the Christian Progressive College in Pretoria, South Africa. 60 members are staying at the school and in return have promised to paint the school and do other community service acts while they’re in town.

The Star Tribune even gave IMS a nice link on their site. Very Nice!
