I was out in Milwaukee at a client seminar/function. At the start of the match it was just me and a client sitting in the hotel bar drinking some beers. (By the way, the USA MN First supporter scarf looked great with my business suit.) By the end of the match about 50+ other people I did not know had joined in–including one rather pathetic English dude–who could not get over the fact that we tied them on 6/12. After the match, the English guy was still in denial–he could not get over the fact that the US finished first in the bracket. What a jerk!
It was fun chanting “USA” with people I did not know. What a great experience. We “willed” that goal–all of US–Donovan was just the instrument of America’s hopes! ALL THE WAY, USA!!!
Its true grown men can cry!
