Inside Minnesota Soccer World Cup Bracket at the Quarterfinals

2010 June 30
by Brian Quarstad

Well we are down to the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup and it’s time to take a quick look at the Inside Minnesota Soccer Bracket that had 90 people register to play. In the lead is Dos A Cero who has an incredible 99.8 percent up to this stage. He has both the upper left and lower right brackets perfect to this point but has the US winning the group A & C bracket. He has Brazil picked to win the tournament.

Nipping at his heels in 2nd place is my friend MNsmatthew with 99.4 percent. MNsmatthew has the Netherlands picked to take the tournament this year.

In third place is USAyoub, but even though he has a 99.1% accuracy he has the US picked to go all the way. Expect a quick drop for USAyoub.

Just click on the bracket below to see all the rankings.

I should’ve picked Ghana for the semifinal. I have them in the Quarter, but didn’t pick them to win. Not that they’ve beaten Uruguay yet, but if they do, that would’ve put me in a good position. *sigh*

Well, I have the distinction of being in absolute last place. The only people behind me didn’t end up actually filling out a bracket. Any consolation prizes? :)

Quite pleased that I am so wrong though! Been a much better tournament than the one I picked!

I think my two biggest mistakes was believing Mexico could win their group which would have given them the best path to Semi-finals and the African nations actually doing good.

    Other than that

Not sure if anyone saw how poorly the editor of this website is doing. :( However, I am doing way better in another pool I’m in that I decided to make some crazy choices in. As Chrös said, those results that have made me do poorly in the brackets are exactly what has made the tournament interesting.
