NSC Minnesota Stars 2011 Schedule
The NSC Minnesota Stars released their 2011 schedule today despite not having a league to play in. Last Thursday the USSF Board of Directors denied the North American Soccer League sanctioning for D2 soccer in 2011. However, the NASL is moving forward with their season in the belief that papers filed today with US Soccer will satisfy the board so that they may readdress the issue and grant the league sanctioning for the 2011 season.
The schedule is a balanced one for the Stars who will play every team four times, two home and two away.
The schedule itself show the Stars playing away for the first three weeks of the season in warmer climates from Minnesota’s unpredictable early springs. April games will be played in Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale and Puerto Rico. Minnesota’s first home game comes on Saturday, April 30th, about the same time that last year’s Stars opened their home season.
Like last year, the Stars have arranged to have home games for every NSC Tournament. Those tournaments are noted next to the games.

Why are there 5 games against FC Tampa Bay and only 3 vs. Puerto Rico in this “balanced” schedule?
I hope the Stars are able to bring the Chicago Fire in this year for a friendly. Too bad the Rochester Thunder are out of business! I had a lot of fun attending both friendlies last year. Come on you Stars!
Okay, the USL schedule sucks. There’s no way around it. But 5 games and approximately 4200 miles travel in a fourteen day span isn’t very good either. At least there are no back to back games in the Stars schedule like there are for the Rhinos.
Here’s to that sanctioning.
Derek,
Good catch. I contacted Alex and the Stars and he says to tell you thank you. The game on July 17 should have been against PR, not Tampa. It’s corrected on their site and now mine as well.
Great to have the Stars back again this year. I hope some work can be done up there with the marketing of the team that can result in increased attendance for this this year, and thereby making them a more attractive club to some new potential investors!
BQ,
You must be a “South Park” fan given the spelling of “Wall Mart All American Cup”
OK, now what did I screw up?
