Stan Anderson of Marquette University was named by College Soccer News as one of 6 top assistant college coaches for 2011.

College Soccer News annually hands out the awards to assistant coaches who are excelling at their work.

Anderson has served as Associate Head Coach at Marquette University under Head Coach Louis Bennett for 5 seasons. Anderson is a goalkeeping coach but is crucial in recruiting for the school and also works in community relations.

In 2010 the Golden Eagles secured their first postseason win since joining the Big East Conference.

Before coming to Marquette, Anderson served under Bennett at UW Milwaukee. He also served as an associate head coach and the two spent 10 years together before moving to Marquette.

Anderson looked at a move to UW Milwaukee last year as head coach but decided to stay put for many reason.

“Being an associate head coach versus the head coach does not take away from what I accomplish and what I have accomplished in the game,” said Anderson. “I think Marquette is a first class university and they have a first class administration.”
