2011 NSC Minnesota Stars Supporters Scarf Chosen
The NSC Minnesota Stars supporters submitted their entries for a scarf design over the last several weeks and voted on the choices through the team’s Facebook page.
The fans have spoken and supporters Aaron Frederickson and Kevin Joseph are both winners.
This hybrid design was compromised upon by Kevin Joseph and Aaron Frederickson. Joseph’s (AKA KJ, who also designed the new IMS logo) Shine On design had the most likes on the team’s Facebook voting, while Frederickson’s draped design won the online poll on NSCMinnesota.com.
The scarf will be available before the home opener April 30 for all supporters’ season ticket packages. It will also be available for $20 at all Stars home games.

As supporters season ticket holder, I am very happy with the design.
I look forward to holding this scarf proudly over head after a goal, and draped around shoulders when out and about town.
Well done, and thanks to all who provided designs, and constructive commentary.
PEACE AND FUTBOL
I don’t mean this to be snarky at all, but what’s the significance of the duck-billed sea monster?
Rumor has it that Nessy and Gary the Cat approve of the design!
I was thinking it was the Swan from the jersey sponsor Schwan’s??
Great looking scarf. Kudos.
Hey Chris,
It’s the Loch Ness monster.

It happened with the Believe thing with the Stars last year and a pond out in back of the NSC along with and most importantly the nickname Nessy that was give to the NSC Stadium when the Thunder moved back there in 2008. Say N-S-C quickly and you will see where the Nessy came from. I never took to it but as you can see plenty of others did.
Then when the team had the Schawnns logo on the font it even slightly resembled Nessy. Also, some Stars players have even had a Nessy razor cut into their hair.
Believe!
Such a good scarf can only get one response:

Even after the background information given, I still don’t get it or buy into the Nessy deal. As long as the beer is cold I’ll still take in a few games.
Ha ha, that’s awesome, I love it. I knew there must be some story there.
That’s a really cool scarf.
And to keep the history of Nessy accurate, some people (may) say it started in a sarcastic way to show their groups disapproval of the team moving out of the St Paul area (and into the unknown).
Then the rook took a hold of it after the Dale Weiler fan club (LOL… a whole new story there) fell apart and ran with it…
Still would have liked the “League owned, US Open Cup Banned, #winning” scarf to have won, but this was a good pick as well.
Don’t forget about the vuvunessies!
I like that it has different designs on the two sides.
