U.S. Kicks Off CONCACAF U-20 Championship with 4-0 Win Over Suriname
The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team kicked off its CONCACAF U-20 Championship playoffs with a 4-0 win over Suriname at Estadio Nacional Mateo Flores in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Bobby Wood (19th minute), Joe Gyau (28th minute), Conor Doyle (37th minute) and Kelyn Rowe (81st minute) each got into the scoring action for the team with with Doyle and Rowe each picking up an assist as well.
The U.S. dominated play while missing a number of opportunities, hitting the uprights twice and the crossbar once.
The U.S. took over first place in Group B with the three points, and will round out play in the three-team Group B against Panama on Saturday, April 2 at 6 p.m. local time (8 p.m. ET). That game will be televised live on ESPN Deportes and ESPN3.
