New NASL Prediction Game Promises Prizes

by Brian Quarstad

Ed Serrano, better known as Uncle Ed from Football in Miami and Beyond, has started a new prediction game for NASL fans. It’s called NASL Guru. You have to register before you can really see what you’re in for, but it only takes a moment and once in it’s a simple prognostication game.

Here’s how it works: NASL Guru lists the upcoming week’s NASL games and you pick the outcome of each matchup by simply clicking through until you reach the score you believe will be the final. Save your results and you’re good-to-go until the following week of action.

Ed states that each month he will be giving away a 2011 Jersey of your favorite team for the 1st place winner.

Season award winners will receive:
1st Place: Ipod touch 4
2nd Place: Personalized 2011 Team Jersey of your choice
3rd Place: Team T-Shirt

Check out NASL Guru and test your soothsaying abilities against other NASL supporters.

Very cool idea and easy to play!

Im excitied for the beginning of this NASL season because there seems to be several little ‘add-ons’ like this and the new weekly podcast which make following the league easier. If the live streaming comes to fruition, then staying on top of the action and making informed picks should be easier.

As a side note, I devised a very simple NASL fantasy league which could be easy to play. It involves selecting 4 players each week (1 GK, 1 Def., 1 MF, & 1 forward) and tallying the points that they get for goals, assists, clean sheets, Minutes played, cards accumulated and any other stat which is readily available. Each week, you can select any new players or keep who you had. Also, any NASL player can be held by multiple fantasy players. Its more like a forecast of which 4 players you think will do good each week. I havent quite figured out how to go public with it, and there isnt any site or anything. I could use some guinea pigs if anyone is interested? or if anyone has some brainstorming ideas?

Very excitied for the games to begin!

I sure hope I get selected to be the “guru” at some point during the season.
