Shine On – Episode II

by Brian Quarstad

Here is part II of Shine On, the excellent documentary video about the NSC Minnesota Stars D2 team in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area that Brave New Media is putting together for the Stars. Their hope is to get more fans to the games and to find a new owners for the NSC Minnesota Stars, who were pulled together at the last minute this past winter and are currently a ‘league owned” team.

Minnesota has a rich history of pro soccer with the Kicks, Strikers and the Thunder, who were in existence for 20 years before folding. The Thunder was one of the longest-running pro soccer teams in the US before they folded in the fall of 2009. The Stars started up from the ashes of the Thunder in the winter of 2009/2010. They were then taken over by the league in the winter/spring of 2011 after the USSF imposed tough new financial standards for ownership that the NSC were not able to meet after only 1-year of ownership.

Here is Part I if you missed it.

I like NSC’s media channel and the guys that help bring these videos. The production is very professional in presenting an inside-look of the team. Fun to watch!
