North American Soccer League Podcast Episode #10

2011 July 7
by Brian Quarstad

Welcome to episode #10 of the IMSoccer News North American Soccer League Podcast.

The NASL is at the halfway mark of the season with all teams having played 14 games. This week I’m again joined by co-hosts Gerry Wittmann and Jay (YankiBoy) Long. The three of us review the eight NASL teams and discuss the good, the bad and the ugly in regard to each team’s status and the players, coaches and management that are helping or hindering. Yes, we have our strong criticism as well.

We then turn our attention to who we think is the NASL Player of the Year so far. Any guesses? It shouldn’t be hard to figure out.

We close out the show by giving some positives and negatives in reviewing the operational status of the North American Soccer League after completing half of their inaugural season.

Please join us for this 9th episode of the IMSoccer News North American Soccer League Podcast.

Really enjoyed the podcast, I do the webcast along with Jon Schwartz for the Silverbacks. We just wrote a weekly roundup of the NASL, check it out when you have a minute.

    Patrick, I agree with Brian:

You guys have been doing a great job. I’ve also heard a lot of really nice comments regarding the webcasts. I didn’t know that you guys were doing the soccerwithswagger thing but I am definitely going to make sure that I am checking it out now that I know.

    Nice!

I predict that the league standings will be the same at the end of the season as they are right now. Carolina is playing some great soccer, Edmonton is doing a great job paying off the refs and hacking away, Puerto Rico are slow starters but come on strong, the Stars need a luck card to come up and get 3 points, the Strikers have the second worst jerseys in the league, TB has terrible looks socks–and Montreal and Atlanta–well…

Hey guys, thanks for your comments regarding our broadcasts and the new site, I really appreciate them. If you ever have feedback or ideas for the broadcasts, Jon and I would love to hear them.

Jay – Can I get your contact information? I can tell you more about http://soccerwithswagger.com

The idea is to cover the World’s game, American Style. We’re unapologetic american soccer fans and extremely competitive. The site is just an outlet for how we feel about where the game should go in the U.S. Comments and ideas appreciated on that as well.

    thx
