While the NSC Minnesota Stars are preparing for their big match Sunday night at the NSC Stadium (7:00 pm CT kickoff) against the Puerto Rico Islanders, who are only 1 point above Minnesota in the standings, the Stars reserves team will play a special exhibition tonight, Saturday, July 16th at 6:00 pm CT. That exhibition game will be free to the public and be played against the TC Fire, one of the top teams in the Minnesota Amateur Soccer League.

The TC Fire, led by Ryan Manning, have a record of 7-2-2 and sit in 3rd place in the MASL with 5 games remaining.

Minnesota soccer fans will be in for a special treat tonight as former Thunder, US National Team and MLS stars Manny Lagos (Stars head coach) and Tony Sanneh will be featuring tonight for the Stars.

The game will be played at 6:00 pm at Braemar Courtney Fields in Edina. The field is a beautiful, well-kept field tucked away just off Highway 169 near the Valley View Road exit and just south and east of that intersection. The address is 7351 McCauley Trail. There is limited seating so you may want to bring your own lawn chair or blanket as much of the observation area is on a hill looking down onto the field.

I would go, however, Edina is too far away (not in a central location), is not connected near a good bus or trolley line, and I feel uncomfortable going near a neighborhood like Edina. I will have to check in later to see how things went.
