Former NASL Carolina RailHawk Brad Rusin Scores for HB Køge
It was just a few weeks ago that the Carolina RailHawks announced that Brad Rusin had left the team to play for HB Køge. This weekend Rusin scored the team’s only goal in a 3-1 loss to Lyngby.
Even though Rusin was the lone goal scorer for his team, his goal was memorable as the defender took the ball from the midfield marker and dribbled all the way to the goal line before firing past the Lyngby goalkeeper to put HB Køge on the board. It’s a goal that Rusin will not soon forget.
Looks like Rusin has gotten rid of some of the highlights in his hair. Perhaps that lightened him up for the long journey down to the touchline to score his Maradona-like goal.
Watch it here!

Good to see former NASL players move on to 1st division leagues and do well.
To be fair, Rusin was a known commodity in Scandinavia and was going to sign with Køge last year. He should of never been in U.S. D2 to begin with if any of his trials worked.
But you have to wonder why no MLS teams went after him? I mean the Danish 1st division is about the level of MLS. So you’d think he could of stayed home and maybe got a USMNT callup.
I totally agree. There is no reason he is in Denmark. I have watched him as a Railhawk and he was a big part of there defense. Why no MSL teams went after him is a big question. If you watch him play you will see he should have been picked up by one of the MLS teams he is that good.
What is he getting paid in Denmark? Also, the experience of playing in Europe is a big influence as well.
