2011 NASL Archive Games Now Available Online
The North American Soccer League have finally made good on their promise to make on-demand archive games available to followers of the league.
Rishi Sehgal, Director of Business Development & Legal Affairs for the NASL and who has been heading up the live video streaming process, notified IMS on Friday that almost all the games from this first NASL season are now available. There may be a few that had technical problems that are not archived as well as all the Puerto Rico Islanders home games. According to Sehgal, the Islanders games will also, eventually, be available. Currently they are working through some technical problems with those files.
The games are conveniently found and linked on the NASL Schedule page which shows past results with the dates of the games played. Of course the video is all provided by USTREAM, who the NASL seems pleased with in providing their live streaming coverage.
The page itself will display in a format everyone should be familiar with as it looks very similar to a YouTube page. The page allows you to share the archived game on Twitter, Facebook or embed it right into your website as well as the ability to leave comments.

Awesome!!!
Thanks IMS for the updates on this!
Ive been very pleased with the efforts of The NASL on this front. I was somewhat satified with last year’s streams, but this year, you dont have to go into a live stream with fingers crossed that you will actually be able to see it. Almost all of the streams Ive seen have been very professional, and most importantly, taken seriously.
As a fan of the league, I couldnt be happier with the live streaming, competition on the field, web presence, and gameday experience. I have to applaud NASL officials for making this a great inaugural season so far. Heres to a great ending to 2011 and an even better 2012!
No, If I could just get those Puerto Rico Islanders to lose a few games….
And one last thing…
I hope to see ‘USTREAM’ as a shirt sponsor for one of the teams next year! Theyve done a wonderful job and deserve the recognition!
I hope they archived the webchats that have associated these games.
Great fun.
Excellent!
I recommend anyone who didn’t watch the Strikers last game in Puerto Rico to check out the last 10 minutes or so to see the interaction between the announcers and the Strikers coach. Interesting viewing to say the least!
Another thing I’d like to point out, not related to the streaming, but related to the league website is they’ve made a HUGE improvement on the Stats category. This now looks much more professional than what they had up before. The only thing that seems to be missing is the average attendances. They should incorporate those back in somewhere.
SR, as I mentioned in the article, the games from PR are not available at this time.
@BQ – Doh! You did of course, and in my haste to spread the word about the classless PR announcer, it flew right out of my head! LOL Can’t wait for those to be up so I can listen again. At the time it was kind of surreal. I kept thinking, no, he didn’t just say that, did he? Does he realize the mike is picking him up? LOL
