Striker Eduardo Sebrango was named on Monday Offensive Player of the Week in the North American Soccer League (NASL) after registering two goals, one assist and four shots in two games.
Sebrango scored twice in a 3-3 tie against FC Tampa Bay Wednesday night, in the process scoring his 50th career goal as a member of the Impact. Starting his 200th career game in North American second division, he tied a team record held by Mauro Biello with his eighth career multi-goal game. Sebrango also earned an assist in the 4-0 shutout win against Atlanta on Sunday night. During the game, he became the 12th player in Impact history to reach 10,000 minutes with the club.
“On behalf of the club, we are very proud for Eduardo,” said Impact interim head coach and sporting director Nick De Santis. “Since the day he came in, he has brought energy to the club and has become our top scorer. However, apart from his point production, his leadership qualities and his inspiration to other players have been enormous. It is gratifying to see that he is being recognized for it.”

Puerto Rico Islanders goalkeeper, Ray Burse, has been named the North American Soccer League Defensive Player of the Week.
The Islanders held the first place Carolina RailHawks scoreless at Juan Ramon Loubriel on Saturday night. Burse also kept a clean sheet on Wednesday night against Atlanta, in a 2-0 win.
“Ray played very well, he had some big saves especially early in the game. He has been an important part of our latest run, and with his play he has given the defense a lot of confidence,” said head coach Colin Clarke.
The second-placed Islanders closed the gap in the NASL standings with the RailHawks, after two victories last week. Burse, who is one of the league leaders in saves with 67 saves, helped the ‘Tropa Naranja’ post its third league shutout in a row. With this victory, Puerto Rico is currently in second place in the NASL with 38 points and are now just six points behind first place Carolina.
