The USL announced this week the recipients of their First and Second Team All-League honors. The USL PRO Championship game will be played this Saturday at the Florida Citrus Bowl, home of the Orlando City Lions. The Lions, a first-year club, won the USL PRO regular season title by six points. The Lions will play the Harrisburg City Islanders who defeated the Rochester Rhinos 2-1 last Friday evening for the National Division title. The Lions took out the Richmond Kickers on Saturday evening in Orlando with a 3-0 victory. The win gave Orlando City the American Division tile.

The Championship game between Harrisburg and Orlando will be televised live on FOX Soccer with kickoff at 6:00 p.m. CT. The Lions have defeated the Islanders in both their previous games this season, winning 3-1 on May 22 in Harrisburg and 4-0 on August 12, in Orlando. The Lions have pulled in impressive crowds all season averaging over 6,000 per game.

I sure hope the teams from Orlando and Rochester play in the NASL next year.

The statement you should be making is you hope that NASL has a season next year. That is a greater likelihood.

NASL will have a season next year with all teams intact.

WSW, at what point are you going to stop making predictions, exactly?

Thanks, KT. Corrected. Yes, I’m sure you checked as I’m sure you’ll be doing the play-by-play of the broadcast.

“I sure hope the teams from Orlando and Rochester play in the NASL next year.”

If Rochester wanted to play in the NASL, they could have done so this year. Obviously there are money issues and questions about whether NASL will even met D2 standards again. They are staying where they are. And so is Orlando which only cares about MLS and has shown no interest in NASL.

I think the NASL should hire WSW as their PR guy. It would be hilarious.

^ I mean money issues with the Rhinos. NASL has their own money issues.
