The performance by the US Men’s National Team against Honduras Saturday evening may not have been flawless by any means. But the only goal, Clint Dempsey’s 36th minute strike, was about as close to perfect as possible.
“I didn’t know if the ball was going to come through,” said Dempsey. “I got a touch on it and tried to settle it to my right foot. I saw that it was going to be blocked so I pulled it back for my left foot and I couldn’t have hit it any better.”
