U.S.A. Lose to Ecuador 1-0
A 79th minute goal by Ecuadorian second half substitute Jaime Ayovi was all it took to defeat the US Men’s National Team on Tuesday night at Red Bull Arena. Ecuador’s Walter Ayovi’s got a bit of space on the left side of the field where it seemed the U.S. had trouble all night long. His cross found the head of J. Ayovi who had slipped his marker, Tim Ream, who was playing at his home stadium. Ream’s mental lapse allowed J. Ayovi just enough space to lean ahead of the defender and redirect the ball into the net past U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard.
The loss now brings Jurgen Klinsmann’s record to 1-3-1. While the U.S. has never given up more than one goal in a game under Klinsmann, his method of playing a more attacking style higher up the field has not yet resulted in more goals. Since taking over as head coach, the U.S. has scored only 2 goals.

Klinsmann needs to shove his foot up some forward’s hindbottoms. They should be worshiping his style of play, yet they are doing literally nothing to get the ball in the net.
Do you think it is the forwards who are the problem right now?
I feel like Klinsmann is still trying to figure out what he has for a player pool so he is trying a lot of different options at many different positions.
I don’t understand how you could start Kyle Beckerman in the midfield. In my opinion Michael Bradley needs to be starting.
Why haven’t we seen anymore of Freddy Adu? He looked sharp in the Gold Cup.
We absolutely need Landon Donovan and Stuart Holden at 100%. This will help us in the attack which will take a lot of pressure of our backs.
Additionally I was happy with how Onyewu played. It is too bad Boca isn’t 5 years younger. Tim Ream doesn’t have the ability to play with the USMNT.
I was uninspired by the play of the USA. I find it hard to believe in a country of 300+ million people was cannot find one or two guys that can score goals. Pathetic! I predict that the US will fail to qualify for the 2014 World Cup!
Maybe that’s because we are a country of players that pass too much and haven’t learned to be selfish, take chances and go for goal.

For me this is the first game I felt optomistic with Klinsy as the head coach, the production and results aren’t there yet but I can start to see what he wants and I think with more time and the proper roster out there things will start looking better.
He was giving players from MLS a chance, looks like we will see more players who play abroad.
Gooch!!!!!!!!!!
