Special Limited Time Offer for NASL Champion Minnesota Stars Season Tickets
The NASL champion Minnesota Stars have a special offer that they posted this past week. That special offer is now being extended and I wanted to share it with you.
Last spring I shared an article with you on why I believe it’s important to support soccer at the grassroots level. You can watch all the MLS, U.S. National Team, EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga or whatever you want, but I believe if you are not supporting pro soccer in your home town then how can you say you want the sport to grow in your own community, state or nation? It all starts right here at home and at a broad local base pyramid and then narrows as it move towards the U.S. National Teams. Let’s make sure we don’t invert that pyramid and put all our support in only the highest levels of soccer. Besides, the 2011 NASL Minnesota Stars played some very entertaining soccer and ended up giving us a national championship.
The Stars are offering a chance to purchase season tickets for 2012 at the 2011 prices. I normally wait a couple of months before the season to purchase my season tickets and yes, I do get a press pass to cover the games, but I also buy a flex pack of season tickets and hand them out to my family and friends. I wouldn’t have to but I do. Why? Because I believe in having the highest level of soccer possible played right here in my back yard and I want to support that.
This year I will be taking advantage of this special offer and have already ordered my 2012 season tickets. I hope you will as well. The offer is good until this coming Tuesday, November 8. Show support for your local team and enjoy good soccer at a very reasonable price.
Letter from Stars CEO Djorn Buchholz
Hello, Minnesota Stars Fan,
Well friends, after a hard-fought 0-0 draw in Fort Lauderdale last Saturday night (3-1 winners on aggregate goals), your Minnesota Stars have been crowned the 2011 Inaugural NASL Champions!
I want to thank each and every one of you for such an amazing season and for your support as a fan. This trophy is for all of you who have come out over the years and have supported the pro team.
As we start building for the 2012 defense of the Soccer Bowl trophy, one of the most important things we can all do is build toward filling the stands on a consistent basis. The best way to do this is through an increased season ticket base. Many of you have taken advantage of the discount code that I emailed out last week that is set to expire today at 5 p.m. I am going to extend this discount code to now run through Tuesday, November 8, at 11:59 p.m. I hope that you will choose to become a 2012 Minnesota Stars season ticket holder and be with us through the entire season as we look to keep this beautiful trophy in Minnesota for another year.
The discount link and code below will allow you to become a 2012 season ticket holder by securing season tickets at the 2011 price. Season ticket packages start for as little as $145 for adults and $80 for youth age 17 and younger and include 14 regular season games that can be used in any combination for any regular season home game. In other words, if you can’t make a game, it’s no problem because you can use two tickets at the following game to introduce a friend or family member to the Stars. It’s a fun and affordable way to spend your summer evenings.
By clicking HERE and entering the promo code STARS2011 upon check out, you will receive $10 off each season ticket, which will lock in 2011 prices. You can also call the Minnesota Stars ticket office at (763) 792-7355 and mention the promo code to receive the same offer. This offer will be good until Tuesday, November 8, at 11:59 p.m. Affordable monthly payment plans are also available.
Let’s come together and build an amazing atmosphere starting with the first game in 2012 and watch your championship team fight through the season as DEFENDING CHAMPIONS!
Djorn Buchholz

Any news on potential ownership groups for the Stars?
We can buy all the tickets we want, but until the NASL finds ownership groups for Minnesota, Carolina, and Atlanta, these teams can fold and the league could go under at any minute. Especially if Traffic decides that it wants to stop losing money. Wasn’t there suppose to be some meeting between the NASL execs and Traffic?
There are so many examples of minor league soccer teams that had support and still folded due to ownership and finances. It’s a cruel world. And like you said, with so much European soccer on American TV, it really is an uphill battle to get fans to take our low level soccer seriously. Being out in Blaine doesn’t help.
I love the fast pace of play in professional D2 soccer. Come on you Stars!
I think this is a great idea by FO to extend the ticket special while the team is fresh off winning the NASL championship. If I lived in MN I’d jump on the offer!
Congrats to the Stars on their title! Looking forward to good news about the NASL, the teams and players in the offseason and really can’t wait until the 2012 season.
