NBC Sports Network Hires Arlo White For Soccer Play-By-Play
Comcast’s NBC Sports Group, who announced last August they were changing their Versus-named channel to NBC Sports, announced on Wednesday that Arlo White would be their new play-by-play man for MLS and U.S. National Team games.
White has been the voice of the Seattle Sounders the last two season where he has received very good reviews. He is a native of England and had previously spent 9 years with BBC Radio Sport involved with soccer, cricket and the Olympics.
Major League Soccer had announced a new TV deal with NBC Sports in August. The new three-year agreement with NBC Sports worth $10 million a year will televise 46 league matches and four USMNT games on their primary network and the newly named NBC Sports Network. According to the press release, all telecasts on NBC and NBC Sports Network will consist of pre-game and post-game coverage. NBCSports.com will live stream all NBC Sports Group matches and will add bonus features similar to its NFL and NHL streams.
The press release also stated that the remainder of the NBC Sports Group’s MLS broadcasters will be announced at a later date. However, rumors persist that Kyle Martino, former MLS and U.S. National team player who is currently employed by FOX Soccer, is being targeted for the job of color commentary.

The best part about Arlo White is that he was alone in the booth.
NBC Sports should keep it that way.
Kyle Martino will be joining Arlo White in the booth. Sorry Rook.
I just hope Comcast keep the channel formerly known as Versus as a channel on their basic package. I miss enough soccer by not having FSC.
