Kassey Kallman’s FSU Steam Rolled by National Champion Stanford

NCAA D1 National Champions, Stanford
Minnesota’s Kassey Kallman’s sophomore soccer season ended abruptly on Friday when her Florida State University team (18-7-1) lost to Stanford 3-0.
Kallman went the distance for FSU in a game that saw her team make some unusual mistakes in the back. Stanford’s very talented team made the Seminoles pay for each and every one of those miscues.
FSU outshot Stanford 12-9 and had 6 shots on frame to the Cardinals 3. FSU also had good stretches of possession at times, but Stanford’s lethal finishing was the difference.
Third time’s the charm
After losing in two consecutive College Cup Finals, Stanford finally broke through with a 1-0 win over Duke on Sunday in the NCAA Women’s Championship game. The victory allowed the Cardinals to finally claim their first NCAA Women’s Division-1 Championship.
Teresa Noyola’s second half header was all it took to push the Cardinals past Duke and complete their undefeated season. Stanford went 25-0-1 this season. But the team’s success this season was no fluke as head coach Paul Ratcliffe has lead his team to an astonishing 95-4-4 overall and 53-0-1 home record over the past 4 seasons.
