Amanda Maxwell is an amazing person and coach. Bethel will benefit hugely. Sadly, Stillwater no longer will.

I’m not sure about the women’s side but on the mens side I think most of the coaches are full time. However, I’m not saying how much money they make doing this full time but I don’t think it’s too bad. I know coaches often will pick up other duties at the college to raise their incomes.

Talked to my daughter, her coach was a full time employee of Bethel, and one of his assignments was to coach the Women’s team, so I guess that makes him a part time coach. If Coach Maxwell is full time Women’s coach, does that mean she has no other responsibilities at Bethel? I’m thinking that at the MIAC level that is pretty impressive. But I assume that is what they mean in the press release. I’ll have to talk to my sources at Bethel.

Ric, I’m confused then. From the press release which is linked to above: “Maxwell becomes the first full-time head coach devoted to women’s soccer in program history, as the position has previously been joined with the men’s team or has been part-time. She is the tenth coach to lead the squad since it began in 1993.” Perhaps it was that I didn’t differentiate that she was full time?

Not the first time Bethel has split the Men’s and Women’s programs. Had both a son and daughter play for Bethel back in the 90′s and they had seperate coaching staffs at that time, at least up until 2000.
