Jim is right on the money, pun intended, with this. There is no advertising at all to speak of. Last year the run up to the season was filled with events and marketing by the team, but the obvious shoe string budget this year seems to have killed all that. And it sucks for those of us who support no matter what because we all thought we saw the beginnings of something great here last year. I'm not going to hit the panic button after two games, but it sure is disappointing to say the least. The team has GOT to find a way to get itself out in the tri-county area the rest of the season. They have a HUGE opportunity this Saturday if you ask me. South Florida is suddenly abuzz about and behind the Panthers. There is going to be a great crowd on hand in Sunrise Saturday night, a LOT of South Floridians to get the Strikers brand in front of. They've got to work with the Panthers to get some kind of set up at the arena so that every person that walks in through those doors with an emotional high for South Florida sports walks right past some prominent Strikers booth/display/whatever. No excuses Strikers, make it happen, or we're going to be battling the Stars in the attendance column, just above the Islanders........

I was also disappointed in the turnout in Fort Lauderdale. I'm more disappointed that the team has not continued to market itself like it did last year with the rebranding. From the sound of it, the team has a very tight budget this year and it already is showing it's impact in the stands.

I really hope they do better as the season progresses!

How can the Ft Lauderdale community not love the Strikers name, colors, and history?

This team needs to have turnouts like the Timbers of the USL - now that soccer and supporters culture is sexy.

Strikers attendance at the home game is disappointing at 2,916. The early part of the season should generate the highest curiousity crowd, with a good showing bringing in more during mid and late season.

If predictions hold true, it sounds like San Antonio will be the winner this year in terms of attendance.

And as it relates to the Stars, they need to get with the mantra that the best defense is a great offense. Ya gotta score.
