@Yankiboy, I 100% disagree with you on the new national team kit. This design was out there and quite frankly, it is ancient world history. Yeah, I know it was only recently “officially” released. If anything, the Rowdies, Strikers, et. al are guilty of copying the national team design.

On another note, I do have a hard time with change and I think they USSF needs to demand a standard design and run with it in the future. It is all about branding and identity. Something some countries have, but the US does not. (I am also pretty conservative and sometimes have a hard time accepting change.)

I think that we need consistency. That’s all. I’d be happier about these jerseys if this was in line with some type of tradition, but we don’t have any quite yet. Honestly, I would prefer the red/white stripe to a plain white jersey. And I think that the red/white stripe makes sense because of the American flag. So, good one Nike.

Looks very similar to a kit worn by a team in the English Championship, which is also made by Nike. Check out Doncaster Rovers FC.

Liked it 3 months ago when I saw the first images of it still like it now. My question is why has Nike waited so long to release an picture of the kit? It’s been known for months what the new kit was going to look like. This kits images leaked before the away kit and some stores have already had them out for sale for a few weeks now.

The sash looks ridiculous on top of the hoops. Pick a friggin’ design element and main color and stick with it, at least for the home kits.

As for the crest, I wonder if they will make slightly modified jerseys for the ladies in the Olympics, or just cover it up with a patch like I remember them doing in Beijing in 08.

I’m okay with the stars on our crest(stars have been a national symbol for the USA much longer than stars have been associated with soccer championships after all). My beef is that the colors are wrong. BLUE field of stars, RED Stripes. What bonehead designed that thing and what bonehead approved it with backwards colors?

In any case, GO USA! I’ll be in Tampa for the first qualifier, rocking my navy blue sash jersey though.

I don’t like it particularly, but for god’s sake, let’s at least stick with it, shall we? I am tired of having completely different designs every year. The sash could have been the mark of the US team for years to come, but I will settle for this. (Though why the included the sash in this kit is beyond me.)

The biggest upside? The men’s and women’s sides are wearing the same jersey for the first time in my recollection!

Don’t like it. I have been really disappointed with Nike, not just with the USMNT jersey but the rest. Look at Holland’s new home kit. Bland and lack of imagination.
